Robbery bid foiled: Five suspects nabbed

Police have obtained their physical remand and are investigating further

Bhara Kahu police foiled a robbery attempt being planned at Shahdara picnic point and arrested five culprits including an Afghan national, a police spokesman said.


On a tip off regarding presence of suspects near the area, SSP Sajid Kiani ordered SP (City) Ahmed Iqbal for immediate raid to ensure their arrest, said a press release.

The team headed by DSP Bhara Kahu Circle Arif Hussain Shah conducted a raid and succeeded in nabbing the suspects. The police also recovered two stolen motorbikes, four pistols, a dagger as well as veils from the possession of the suspects.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ali, Abdullah alias Nizam, residents of Bhara Kahu, Saeedur Rehman, a resident of Chilas, and Abdul Rasheed, a resident of Afghanistan. They reportedly confessed to their involvement in several robberies.

Police have obtained their physical remand and are investigating further.
