There's good news for emoji lovers as 38 new characters have been accepted as candidates to be included in the 2016 update.

The final candidate list for the Unicode 9 update are scheduled for approval and set to be introduced in mid-2016. It will include the face palm, the selfie, a shrug, fingers crossed and a pregnant woman among others.

Emoji's most recent update in April, for the first time featured racially diverse characters however, in the new update, the dancing lady is also set to get a partner while the bride will get her groom.

Baby and wedding announcements no longer have to be through expensive gifts- these emojis are enough.

The update which is likely to be released in mid-2016 will make your conversations look like this:

Don't miss out the new food emojis, the clown and the Pinocchio look alike.

The cutest new addition seems to be Mrs Claus and of course the 'facepalm' emoji- don't you just love it when real feelings are put in the form of emojis?

Further, the update will also include new hand gestures, 'fist bump' and 'call me' seem to be the best ones.

There is something new for everyone, foodies included- croissants, potatoes, bacon and carrots have also made it to the list.
