ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani has directed the authorities to resolve housing problems of the secretariat employees immediately.

Talking to a delegation of All Pakistan Secretariat Employees Coordination Council on Wednesday, Durrani expressed his resentment over non-execution of his orders and asked the housing officials to submit a report on the issue.

He said that slackness and negligence by officials would not be tolerated at any cost and called for removing the irritants immediately.

He assured the delegation that their problems would be solved on priority basis. Earlier, delegation of secretariat employees updated the minister about housing and accommodation problems of the employees and demanded for timely completion of Bhara Kahu Housing Scheme.

The delegation also apprised the minister that Capital Development Authority did not carry out maintenance of government buildings and quarters, thus 5 per cent deduction from employees’ salaries in the head of house rent must be let off.

The delegation also demanded transparency in the process of allotment of accommodations and called for construction of new quarters to overcome shortage of housing units. They also demanded increase in ceiling of housing rent.
