At least three children, including a four-month-old, were killed in separate incidents in Bannu on Saturday.


A police official told The Express Tribune on Saturday a four-month-old boy was hit by a stray bullet while he was sleeping in the courtyard of his house in Mundan, Bannu. He was identified as Muhammad Hassan, son of Gulab. The police have registered a case and further investigation into the incident is underway.

In a separate incident, two brothers were killed when the wall of their house collapsed in Nazamabad area of Bannu city.

They have been identified as five-year-old Sajid and 10-year-old Javed.  Their remains were shifted to Divisional Headquarters Hospital in Bannu for an autopsy. According to a police official, a thorough investigation will be conducted into the matter and FIR will be registered. Police official informed that before registering FIR, they are going to probe the matter.

“An FIR will only be registered if the relevant authorities find any evidence of foul play,” he said. “The culprits will then be taken to task.”
