Pakistan wicketkeeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed neglected all the controversy theories regarding his omission from the T20 squad in the recently concluded two-match series against Sri Lanka which the men in green won 2-0.

"I am just happy that the team won the T20 series and improved their international ranking," Sarfraz told reporters on arrival from Sri Lanka.

"I have no issues if I am rested because of team requirements. I am not a part of the tour selection committee. My job is to give my best performances whenever I play."

When the team for the first T20 was announced, the whole cricket world was surprised to see the Pakistan vice-captain excluded from the final eleven despite dependable performances in the ODIs and the Tests.

The uproar against the move shook Pakistan Cricket Board and the head of the executive committee, Najam Sethi, was found saying in a TV show that: "Questions of dropping Sarfraz comes from the general public and we also want to know reasons of his dropping."

However, the 28-year-old glovesman said that he was content with the chances he got in Tests and ODIs and was ready to perform for Pakistan whenever needed.

"I am just happy to see the way we won the T20 series and how we performed throughout the tour. It is great news for Pakistan cricket as we are now moving forward," he said.

He also added that Pakistan's dramatic one-wicket win in the second T20 match at the Premadasa stadium was heartening as it showed the never-say-die spirit of the Pakistani team.
