Delta Air Lines announced plans to offer upgrades to select customers, enabling them to fly in one of the airline’s private jets.

The airline company has offered the new upgrades, which will cost around $300 to $800 per trip, on select routes only to passengers with ‘medallion’ status in the Delta SkyMiles frequent-flyer program.

Customers who travel 25,000 miles or 30 segments annually and spend $3,000 a year on qualifying purchases will be eligible for the offer.

The airline, which boats a fleet of 66 private jets, said the upgrade would include transportation to the departure airport’s private aviation area and complimentary catering on the flight.

However, according to the airline, the availability of upgrades would depend on “specific markets where an available Delta Private Jets aircraft is otherwise not in use”.

Additionally, the customers will not be offered extra frequent-flyer miles. Instead, those who choose the upgrade will be offered the same mileage they would have gotten on the commercial flight they originally booked.
