KARACHI:

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Thursday to have arrested four suspects, affiliated with a political party, involved in 40 target killings in the city.

The alleged target killers, said to be members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, were apprehended from Korangi 100 Quarters in a raid by the CTD, said SSP Usman Bajwa at a press conference. The suspects, Abu Huraira alias Sohail, Ibrahim, Abdullah and Jawed, were presented before the media.

SSP Bajwa told the media that the suspects have confessed to killing 40 people in targeted attacks across the city. He added that the suspects received orders from their party's high-ups to deliberately deteriorate law and order in the city.
