PESHAWAR:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf held a demonstration against the federal government on Friday, saying the Centre was “controlling” its electricity, which was unacceptable.

A large number of PTI activists gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club. Their protest was led by party lawmakers Arif Yousaf, Yaseen Khalil, Arbab Jehandad Khan and Peshawar General Secretary Younas Zahir as well as council member Mena Khan Afridi.

Yousaf said the Centre failed to reduce or overcome power outages despite vowing to stop load-shedding in Ramazan. He warned of a province-wide protest if the PML-N-led federal government remained unable to bring an end to load-shedding. They demanded the minister for water and power hand over control to the K-P government if the Centre was unable to handle the situation.
