Relations with Saudi Arabia of 'vital importance', says President Mamnoon

President and Crown Prince discuss matters of mutual understanding, regional situation and bilateral issues

JEDDAH: President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday night stressed on the importance of maintaining ties with Saudia Arabia and said that Pak-Saudi relations were of "vital importance", Radio Pakistan reported. 

This was revealed during a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Naif in Jeddah.

During the meeting, the two discussed matters of mutual interest and ways of strengthening bilateral issues.

Earlier, in a meeting  with the Saudi foreign minister, Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz reiterated Pakistan’s unequivocal support and ‘strong commitment’ to the security and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia.

Also, a report surfaced which claimed Saudi Arabia wanted to buy nuclear weapons from Pakistan. However, a defense official of the Kingdom  dismissed it as mere “speculation”.
