IED blast in North Waziristan kills one security official, injures six

MIRALI: A security official was killed while six others were injured when an improvised explosive device targeted their vehicle in in Mir Ali, North Waziristan on Tuesday evening.

According to a security official, the incident occurred in Madi Khel area of North Waziristan.

The IED, planted by unidentified militants, went off at about 7pm when security officials were on a routine patrol in the area. The security official added that their vehicle was also damaged in the blast.

The injured were moved to CMH Bannu for treatment after the blast, while a search operation was initiated in the area.

No group had claimed responsibility for the attack till the filing of this report.

Madi Khel in Mir Ali had been cleared of militants during Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
