LAHORE: The National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC) has started a five-week internship training programme for 230 students of 33 public and private universities of the country. The company arranged an orientation ceremony to welcome the interns at the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) House on Monday. Speaking at the ceremony, NTDC Managing Director Engineer Muhammad Arshad Chaudhry said this training programme would play a vital role in enriching the academic career and provide students with off-hand opportunities, where knowledge from theoretical work is applied in real terms. He said the students would get opportunities of learning during the study of mega projects of national importance, which were being executed by the NTDC. The company, he added, has international credibility, which maintains its network to supply hydroelectric power from the north and thermal power from the south to load centres of the country.
