Ramazan subsidy: 35 designated fair price shops in ICT

ICT food inspectors will fix the wholesale and retail rates of fruits and vegetables

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has designates 35 stores as “fair price shops” where food items will be available at subsidised rates during Ramazan. ICT food inspectors will fix the wholesale and retail rates of fruits and vegetables at the time of auction of these items at fruit and vegetable market on daily basis. The food inspectors will provide a price list to shopkeepers and ensure its implementation.


An ICT spokesperson said that 19 price control committees have been constituted to ensure implementation of official rates. These teams will conduct surprise checking in their jurisdictions daily.
