Local bodies' election: New delimitation lists of Larkana displayed

The new delimitation lists of the entire Larkana district for the local bodies' election, 2015, were displayed outside District Election Commission Office on Friday.


The elections are expected to be held in September. According to these lists, Larkana Municipal Corporation will incorporate 20 union committees and 80 wards. Rural Union Councils have been raised from 32 to 47 and town committee status has been granted to Garello, Badah, Dokri and Areeja whereas municipal committee status to Naundero and Ratodero has also been allowed. Every union committee will have four wards.


There will be 13 union councils in Larkana taluka, 12 in Ratodero and 11 each in Dokri and Bakrani. Previously, Larkana had 11 union councils, which have now been raised to 20. Each union council shall consist of four wards.


Ratodero municipal committee will have 10 wards while Naundero municipal committee will consist of seven wards. A separate union council has been granted to Garhi Khuda Bux, after detaching it from Mirpur Bhutto union council.
