MUMBAI: The script of Wazir, directed by Shaitaan fame Bejoy Nambiar and starring Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, and Aditi Rao Hydari with John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh in cameo roles, took five years to complete, co-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra said on Wednesday.

Speaking at the unveiling teaser for media, Vidhu, who has produced the film with Rajkumar Hirani, said the script wasn't an easy task for the makers.

"We've spent five years to create the characters of Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar. I'm extremely grateful to them for bringing these characters to life," said the co-producer, who was also a co-writers of the film along with Abhijat Joshi.

Asked about the extensive writing process, Vidhu also said, "It takes us four to five years to write our scripts if you see our films. And that is the reason, our films are of a certain level.

"We are not a studio and we don't have to pay salaries to 400 people. We are not in any hurry. We are bit lazy too. Right from Parinda to PK, all have taken time to write, as we only back those projects we believe in."

But the hard work did not just go in the script, the stars had to bring the characters to life and for that they had to work intensely for the role.

"My character is a hard-boiled law enforcement officer. He is someone who deals with violence on a daily basis. It is a world I am not familiar with, so it took some amount of research and training,” Farhan, who turned 41 today, told Press Trust of India in an interview.

The Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor had to undergo intense training for his role as the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) Officer Danish Ali. Opposite him, Amitabh plays the role of a paralysed chess grandmaster.

Farhan was thrilled to be working with the megastar again after 10 years. “You get to learn so much by just being with him (Amitabh). The film is predominantly about these two characters, so we have a lot of scenes together. We both are bound by a bond in the film and find redemption in each other," said the excited actor.

However, it was script that was the deciding factor for Farhan when signing the film. “Vidhu Vinod Chopra approached me for the role. He was very keen that I do the role of Danish Ali in the film. I met Abhijat and I found the story quite compelling. The story is well-written and also has action and romance. It is a complete film and Amitabh and I enjoyed telling this story," he said.

According to Indian Express the young actor, who has also found success as a singer, director and producer, has his hands full this year with the release of Wazir and Dil Dhadakne Do, a multi-starrer directed by sister Zoya and produced by his Excel Entertainment. He is also co-producing SRK and Mahira Khan-starrer Raees.

The film is set to release later this year. The two teaser trailers pack a powerful punch and leave you wanting more. Now we know why it is the most anticipated film of 2015.
