Renowned film director and producer Mahesh Bhatt who welcomes new talent and aspiring actors, is proud of his daughter Alia Bhatt's achievements but would not cast her in his films because he feels he is not talented enough to direct the actress.

"Why would I in any way try to jeopardise her journey because of my stupid ideas," said the director in an interview with Press Trust of India.

He openly dismissed all speculation and stated, "There is nothing as of now. If there is a story we will talk to her then she will decide. We don't make films for stars."

Mahesh has no plans of casting his daughter in his films and has made it very clear that Alia "is a star in her own world, and I don’t work with stars".

According to Times of India, the 64-year-old father feels that the fault lies on his part. "I don't think I am equipped to direct her. I am not talented enough to direct Alia Bhatt," said Mahesh in an interview.

Speaking of his daughter's Bollywood career, he is happy with how far she has come and proud that she has achieved so much in such a small span of time.

"I am very proud of Alia and her achievements. She has miles to go. She is sane that way, she is not in awe of her own achievements," Mahesh revealed.

"She is successful. At the age of 22 she has achieved so much success which I did not achieve till I was 50. So, it is a generation that is more intelligent, more courageous. By doing everything on her own she has proved me right.. what more can a father ask for," he added.

The Arth director reveals that Alia gives him suggestion and advice on his films.  "When Mr X flopped, I asked Alia what is it that I should be doing that I am not doing. She said the emotional depth, unique way of thinking about life is what makes you. So if that is not there then people will be cheated," he said.

When asked to comment on some senseless films that are being made today, he said, "No I think even I have made senseless films. It would not be right to say that others are making bad films and I am only making good films. No one deliberately makes senseless films. We all want people should like our films… the film should do well."

Currently, the Student of the Year actress is working alongside Fawad Khan and Sidharth Malhortra in Kapoor and Sons. Despite not knowing one another, Fawad made a very positive impression on both Alia and Sid. According to Times of India, Sidharth and Fawad “bonded like long-lost friends” and Alia too was full of praise for his performance in Khoobsurat.

The three were spotted at Deepika's Piku success party where the Pakistani heartthrob was seen mingling with A-list Bollywood stars.

Shivani | 8 years ago | Reply @raw is war: Disgusting.... you would say Alia needs special attention when she is making millions and has done incredible performances in her films? You are a disgusting human being for saying Mahesh Bhatt needs to be a special needs teacher to direct Alia. She has had directors dying to work with her right now. Take your hate somewhere else.
