Party over: Auto-theft gang busted

The special investigation unit of the police arrested two suspected carjackers

Islamabad Police have busted an inter-provincial gang involved in selling stolen cars after tempering with them, said a press release on Sunday. The special investigation unit of the police arrested two suspected carjackers. The police investigated them, which led to the arrest of two of their accomplices from Peshawar. The suspects, identified as Israr Ali and Yunus, have confessed to stealing cars and selling them on after tempering with them. Moreover, sub-inspector Tariq Rauf and ASI Haider Ali Shah arrested a suspect from Buner in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for his involvement in a spare parts theft case in Tarnol on June 7, 2014. The suspect Zar Wali and his accomplice Asif purchased an excavator after selling the looted items. The police have also confiscated the excavator. IGP Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of the special investigation unit.
