Mukhtar, Nasim and Rizwan leave for SL

Trio to join Pakistan A side for first unofficial ODI.

KARACHI: Mukhtar Ahmed, Saad Nasim and Muhammad Rizwan flew from Dhaka to Matara in Sri Lanka on the first available flight ahead of the first unofficial ODI between the A sides of Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which will be played on Sunday.

The trio was part of the Pakistan team which lost to Bangladesh in the one-off T20I on Friday. Now they will be looking to make an impact in Sri Lanka under the captaincy of Test player Fawad Alam, with the team comprising several other hopefuls as well.

Test batsman Khurram Manzoor has an opportunity to make a claim for his comeback, and others who have the similar chance include Umar Amin and Bilawal Bhatti. Several other rookie players who are being considered for the national team in near future include Shahzaib Ahmed Khan, Zafar Gohar and Mir Hamza.
