The suspects, Kamran alias Munna and Amir Abbasi, besides being implicated in possession of illicit weapons and explosives cases, have also been charged with killing a man, identified as Suleman, on political grounds. They were recently implicated in the case on the basis of their confessions during interrogation, said investigators. A joint investigation team's report has also been submitted to the court, in which Kamran has been quoted as revealing 'his crime story'.
The murder case in question was registered in July 2012 on the complaint of the uncle of the deceased against unidentified suspects. Three months later, the case was termed 'A' class as no witnesses came forward. However, the case reopened in mid-March after three years. Apparently, the prosecution came forward with evidences this time.
The challan stated that Kamran, Abbasi and three other absconding suspects, Abid alias Chairman, Kamran alias Chata Pati and Zahid alais Ajay, had killed Suleman after picking him up from his house in Napier.
