DCO Noorul Amin Mengal on Saturday directed the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), the Irrigation Department, the Faisalabad Development Authority, Rescue 1122, the TMAs, the Health Department and the Livestock Department to devise a plan to deal with monsoon emergencies monsoon.


Chairing a meeting at his office, the DCO appointed the WASA managing director and the additional collector as focal persons for a monsoon action plan and directed them to finalise a flood control strategy.

He said low lying areas should be surveyed before monsoon season so that precautions could be taken in time.

He said NGOs should be urged to participate in rescue and relief operations.

The DCO said flood relief camps would be established at Al-Fateh and Crescent Sports Complex. The DCO also directed the Livestock and Health departments to maintain adequate stock of medicines.
