Sri Lankan president to arrive in Pakistan on April 5 for first state visit

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena will be visiting Pakistan in April on the request of President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

Sirisena will be visiting Pakistan between April 5 and 7, making it the first visit by the newly elected president to Pakistan.

PM Nawaz will be holding official talks with the Sri Lankan president during which a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and agreements of cooperation in various fields would be signed following talks.

Senior ministers and the speaker in the National Assembly will also be acquainted with the head of the democratic republic. A banquet in the honour of the distinguished visitor is also to be hosted by President Hussain.
