Targeted attack?: Three killed, two injured in firing incident

Three people were killed while two others were injured on Friday night in a firing incident in Tala Shah area of Umerzai, Charsadda district.


According a police report filed on Saturday by Yar Muhammad, who was among the injured, he and his colleagues were on their way to a wedding ceremony in Umerzai when an unidentified assailant fired shots at their car. As a result, three of his colleagues died on the spot. Yar Muhammad and one of his associates were injured.


The deceased have been identified as Sajjad, a resident of Charsadda, Kashif and Abdul Kareem, both from Peshawar. The wounded were brought to District Headquarters Hospital, Charsadda for treatment.


Charsadda DPO Shafiullah Khan told journalists that police have started investigation. “We have also taken legal custody of the personal belongings of the deceased from the crime scene,” he added.


Muhammad claims neither he nor his colleagues have an enmity with anyone.
