March 25, 2015

Held in the subcontinent’s showbiz capital, Mumbai, Bollywood actors peacocked down the ramp as the 15th edition of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) summer-resort 2015 marked its grand finale on Sunday.

LFW, being one of the most high-status fashion weeks of India, was graced with some iconic looks. Here are a few showstoppers that grabbed our attention.

Nargis Fakhri

The Rockstar stunner walked For Suneet Varma at LFW 2015 in bridal-wear decked with ethic jewels. Featuring a riot of art and colour, the lehenga was encrusted with traditional motifs and delicate mirror-work. The colour theme included shades of reds, vermilion and gold, which were splashed with complex thread embroidery on the borders and choli, which gave the ensemble an antique appeal.

Kareena Kapoor

The Jab We Met star walked the ramp at the grand finale of LFW 2015 for Anamika Khanna. The designer dressed the showstopper in an edgy mildly-pleated black saree that could easily pass for a draped toga dress with a white and silver embroidered blouse. Kapoor skilfully complemented her waist baring dress with winged eyes, a sleek side-parted ponytail, black strap heels and a bold ox-blood lip.

Tamanna Bhatia

The Entertainment star looked pleasant on the LFW 2015 ramp For Payal Singhal. The Mumbai-based designer adorned Bhatia in a soft-toned nude-peach number comprising intricate patterns and mirror mosaic work all over the high-waisted lehenga and half-sleeved choli. Teamed with a sheer net dupatta, the ensemble boasted an ornamental theme that could’ve worked better if it was a tad-bit toned down.

Shraddha Kapoor

Bringing in the spunk, Delhi designer Dhruv Kapoor showcased the Ek Villain beauty in an edgy outfit that featured a jet-black bustier top with the peplum design and a pair of slick cigarette pants. Juxtaposed with a pretty silhouette, the effortless outfit featured an olive-green-grey train at the back. Exuding simplicity and elegance, the actor rocked the understated look like no other.
