LAHORE: District and Sessions Judge Tariq Iftikhar Ahmad on Saturday directed all judicial officers to submit details of pending cases from 1990 to December 2014. He also cancelled their weekly holiday (Sunday). Requesting anonymity, a court official said that Chaudhry Shahid Naseer, an inspection team member, had written to Ahmad, asking for details of the cases. “The district and sessions judge wrote to all judicial officers, asking them to submit information about pending cases after physical verification. All judicial officers and staff, including readers, stenographers/ahlmads, naib qasids, of respective courts, will not avail the holiday on Sunday (today),” he said. “On the day, judicial officers will arrange contributory breakfast in their respective courts together with staff members,” he said. The judicial officers will submit the details to the district and sessions judge in this regard, who further will submit it to the Lahore High Court on March 17 for further action on the matter.
