Senate elections: Petition challenging Mir’s nomination dismissed

LAHORE:

Justice Ayesha A Malik of Lahore High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition challenging acceptance of nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sajid Mir for Senate elections.

The judge said that the petitioner had no locus standi and that the court was not the right forum to hear the petition.

Qazi Hussain Siraj had filed the petition asking the court to restrain Mir from contesting the election.
