Fickle friends: Remand extended in Abeera murder case

LAHORE:

A sessions court on Wednesday extended the physical remand of three people suspected of killing Lahore-based model Abeera.

Tooba, Farooqur Rehman and Zeeshan Naveed, the suspects, were presented in the court. Officials said two bottles of poison had been seized from Tooba’s room. Police said Rehman had procured the poison from Zeeshan, a hakim. Officials said they had sold the deceased’s valuables including ornaments and a mobile phone. They said the force was yet to recover them.  Police asked the court to extend the suspects’ remand to enable it to look into the matter. The counsel for the suspects said they had been falsely implicated in the case. He asked the court to send them on judicial remand. A judicial magistrate extended the remand of the suspects following the conclusion of arguments.
