SWABI:

A woman from Swabi district has threatened to set herself on fire outside the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly if Chief Minister Pervez Khattak does not direct the police to release her husband and son.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, the woman, a resident of Zaida Town, said the police raided her house last week and picked up her husband Mohammad Riaz and their son Sheraz who is a grade ten student.

“So far, I don’t know where my husband and son are,” she said. “Even the police are reluctant to provide any information.”

The woman urged Khattak and K-P Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser to take notice of the matter and direct the police to release her husband and son.

“If they fail to release them, I will protest outside the K-P Assembly,” she said “I can go to any extent to have my voice heard. I will set myself and my children on fire if law-enforcement agencies ignore my request.”
