KARACHI: Panic gripped Landhi on Sunday after a low-intensity explosion occurred outside a government school in Gul Muhammad Goth within the limits of Sharafi Goth police station.

The bomb was planted at the outer wall of the Government Girls Primary School. No loss of life was reported.

Following the explosion, an extra contingent of law enforcers reached the site, cordoning it off. According to bomb disposal experts, who were called to collect evidence, the bomb weighed around half a kilogram of explosives, including ball bearings, and had a detonating code attached.

Police officials, meanwhile, remained clueless about the motive behind the incident. SHO Fateh Muhammad said that the police had questioned the school administration but they had denied receiving threats from anyone. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
