A spring tree plantation drive kicked off here on Friday.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi Sajid Zafar Dall inaugurated the spring tree plantation campaign 2015 by planting a sapling in the lawn of his office.
EDO Agriculture Dr Shahid Sajjad Asghar, District Forest Officer (North) Iftikhar-ul-Hassan Farooqi and officers of allied departments were present on the occasion.
Dall emphasised the need to promote social forestry by undertaking afforestation campaigns in their respective areas.
He said that saplings would also be planted in all open spaces in government offices including educational institutes, hospitals and other available places in the district.
