Women’s cricket: 21 players awarded central contracts for 2015

PCB Women’s Wing has increased salaries across the board.

The one-year contracts given by the board, effective from January 1, are divided into four categories.

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has awarded central contracts to 21 women cricketers for 2015, with the PCB Women’s Wing increasing remunerations following chairman Shaharyar Khan’s approval.

These contracts have been given for the players’ outstanding performance and progress shown in both domestic and international events the previous year.

The one-year contracts given by the board, effective from January 1, are divided into four categories.

Skipper Sana Mir, Bismah Maroof, Javeria Wadood and Asmavia Iqbal, part of Group A, will earn Rs100,000 per month while Group B, comprising eight players — Nida Rashid, Sadia Yousaf, Sumaiya Siddiqui, Marina Iqbal, Syeda Nain Fatima Abidi and Sania Iqbal — will receive Rs80,000.

Group C includes Kainat Imtiaz, Sidra Nawaz, Rabiya Shah, Anam Amin, Naila Nazir, Sidra Amin and Nahida Khan, who will pocket Rs60,000; while Fareeha Mahmood, Maham Tariq, Aliya Riaz and Iram Javed, part of Group D, will receive Rs40,000 per month in stipends.
