KARACHI:

A nine-member delegation of the Pakistan Cutlery and Stainless Steel Utensils Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Wazirabad is currently visiting South Africa.

During their first-ever visit, organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, the delegates will study the market, hold business-to-business meetings and prepare a strategy for launching their products in the region.

They called on Pakistan High Commissioner in Pretoria Najmus Saqib and were briefed on business opportunities in South Africa. The high commissioner advised the delegates to enhance their marketing activities in the region and participate in fairs and exhibitions held there.

Catering to over 90% of Pakistan’s production of cutlery and hunting equipment, Wazirabad is the hub of such businesses. The sector comprises over 400 SMEs, of which 250 are cutlery manufacturers. The remainder 150 are involved in the manufacture of hunting equipment and swords.
