LAHORE:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested four people and recovered a cache of spurious life-saving drugs from them, the FIA Punjab director announced on Saturday.

He told a press conference that the agency had received a tip-off that a man named Arshad had been printing labels for spurious drugs on Aibak Road.

He said an FIA team had raided the premises and recovered a large quantity of printing material. Arshad was not present there, he said. He said neighbours had told the raiding team that Arshad used to print the labels for Jamil Anjum. Anjum was later arrested from Dina, Jhelum, the director said. “During investigation, Anjum revealed that a man, Sajjad, has been manufacturing spurious drugs at Gohar Centre on Wahdat Road, Lahore.” He said the team had raided Gohar Centre and arrested three men – Sajjad, Asghar and Naeem – and seized the drugs. He said the FIA was looking for Arshad.
