Awami National Party-Wali (ANP-W) Chairperson Begum Nasim Wali Khan on Saturday condemned the brazen bomb attack at an imambargah in Shikarpur, Sindh a day earlier.

According to a press release issued by ANP-W’s district office, Begum Nasim said the incumbent federal government has failed to maintain peace and eliminate militancy from the country.

Meanwhile, Awami National Party (ANP) K-P Vice President Syed Hussain Ali Shah Al Hussaini also condemned the attack that claimed 57 lives. Speaking to the media in Hangu on Saturday, Shah said the war has taken its toll on the people and there are mass funerals in the country every day.

He said the government is powerless while “foreign elements” ignite sectarian differences in the country. He said those who attack mosques and imambargahs cannot belong to any sect that associates itself with Islam. He maintained the country is on the brink of civil war.
