ISLAMABAD:

The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Friday issued notices to top police officials for allegedly occupying Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) land adjacent to the capital airport.

LHC Justice Zafarullah Khakwani issued notices to City Police Officer Humayun Tarar, DCO Sajid Zafar Dal and Sadiqabad SHO Arshad Malik directing them to submit their reply by February 12.

CAA has filed a petition saying Punjab Police has occupied their land and established an illegal check-post. According to the officials, police have also established shops at the site and a monthly rent under the head is received by the SHO. They claimed that the police was called in to protect the airport but they have instead encroached on the land in connivance with some businessmen to make a buck.
