Shahani broke into his father-in-law’s house with his accomplices on Tuesday night and held the family hostage at gunpoint. He then beheaded his wife and opened fire at the family when they showed resistance.
Ghazala’s father, Hammad Khoso, mother, Sakina, and brothers, Ashraf, Amjad, Tanveer and Arshad, were injured in the incident.
The Guddu police took the body and the injured to the Guddu hospital and registered a case against Shahani and his accomplices.
Officials revealed that Ghazala had eloped with a man named Barkat Khoso four-and-a-half years ago. However, the two were unable to get married because the tribal leaders found Ghazala and returned her to her parents, who married her off to Shahani.
Sources revealed that Shahani abused his wife, even after she gave birth to his two children. Around 20 days ago, Shahani had declared Ghazala as kari and threw her out of his house.
She was living at her parents’ house when Shahani raided the house and killed her.
