LAHORE:

Law enforcement agencies should ensure the protection of foreigners living or working in the province, Home Minister Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada said on Sunday.

“DCOs and DPOs should check project sites where foreign nationals are working and provide them foolproof security,” Khanzada said.

He asked the law and prosecution secretaries to update the anti-terrorism laws on the web portal of the Law Department. “The Prosecution Department should have close coordination with sessions judges. They should actively pursue cases registered under new laws to bring criminals to justice,” he said.

He also issued instructions for setting up district criminal justice coordination committees. “The committees should hold their meetings at least once a week. The district public prosecutor should assist the district administration and the police,” he said.
