Promotions: PM appoints 15 federal secretaries

Of the total officers promoted in grade 22, seven are from the district management group

The government on Tuesday appointed 15 federal secretaries after their promotion in grade 22, said notifications issued by the Establishment division. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved the promotions.


Of the total officers promoted in grade 22, seven are from the district management group (DMG), three from the police service, four from the Foreign Service and one from postal service.

The seven DMG officers who have been made federal secretaries are Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Additional Chief Secretary Khalid Pervez, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Secretary Energy and Power Sahibzada Saeed Ahmad, Additional Secretary, Interior, Arif Ahmad Khan, National Archives Director General Khalid Mehmood, Supreme Court Registrar Tahir Shehbaz, Housing Additional Secretary In-Charge Shahrukh Arbab and Religious Affairs Additional Secretary Khalid Hanif.

Punjab IGP Mushtaq Sukhera, K-P IGP Nasir Durrani and Azad Jammu and Kashmir IGP Malik Khuda Bakhsh Awan have also been promoted to grade 22.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to France Ghalib Iqbal and Secretariat Group officer Raisuddin Paracha have also been promoted.
