QUETTA: A Frontier Corps (FC) official was killed and three others wounded after their vehicle was bombed in Sibi on Thursday morning.

According to police officials, unidentified militants attached an improvised explosive device (IED) to a tree near a graveyard close to Police Line, Sibi.

The militants detonated the IED by a remote device when FC vehicle passed by the area.

As a result of the explosion, FC solider Mohammed Luqman died on the spot while three other personnel sustained wounds. “The FC vehicle was going back to their headquarters from Sibi when it was attacked,” an official said.

Police and FC personnel rushed to the scene and transported the dead and injured to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Sibi.

Militants often target security forces in Sibi and other areas but there have been no claims of responsibilities for this latest attack till the filing of this report.
