Developing education: PEF expands free education initiative

Press Release December 28, 2014

LAHORE:

The Punjab Education Foundation is expanding its New School Programme. The objective of the initiative is to extend the opportunity of free school education to more deserving students.

PEF has identified 225 sites for setting up partner schools under the NSP. The foundation has offered intending partners the sites to establish schools for giving free education to the needy students.

The prospective partners have been divided into individual and NGOs. The NGOs are required to have at least 50 registered schools that must have been operational for at least five years. The individual must be educated at least to the intermediate level. The NSP is a public-private partnership for needy students in remote areas. The PEF provides monthly fee and text books for students at partner schools.
