LAHORE:

In the wake of the recent fog that has covered the province, CTO Tayyab Hafeez Cheema appealed to the people on Wednesday to use fog lights on their vehicles to ensure road safety.  He was speaking to reporters at his office. Cheema stressed the need for using fog lights to improve visibility.

He urged drivers to maintain reasonable distance between vehicles when driving in fog. Cheema said that drivers should ensure that safety hazards and fog lights were turned on when driving in fog.

He counselled drivers to desist from overtaking vehicles in foggy weather. Cheema said that he had directed the Shahdara and Saddar deputy superintendents to instruct drivers of heavy transport vehicles to install reflectors and fog lights on their vehicles. The chief traffic officer urged the people to follow traffic rules and regulations to mitigate risk of road accidents. He said it was every citizen’s duty to ensure road safety in such weather.
