Busted: CID apprehends key militants

KARACHI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) police claimed to have apprehended two key members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Wednesday evening. The arrests were made after an encounter on Ijtima Gah Road in Manghopir. The apprehended suspects were identified as Zainuddin alias Amjad alias Shahzad, son of Murzuddin, and Raheedullah, son of Gul Mardeen. Five of their accomplices managed to escape.“They are key members of TTP’s Jamaatul Ahrar group,” said CID in-charge Khurram Waris. “They were involved in generating funds through extortion activities in Karachi and passing the extorted money on to their commander, Omar Khalid Khorasani.”
