Road hazard: Couple killed, son injured in accident

Two people were killed and one was injured in a road accident in Bhakkar on Wednesday.


Police said the district population officer was travelling in his car with his staff when it hit a motorbike near Haranwali Mor.

Muhammad Yousaf and his wife were killed on the spot and their son was injured.

Police said assistant population officer Muhammad Yousaf was driving the car and that four members of the Population Department offices were riding in it.

They said they fled after the accident. Police set up pickets when they were informed.

They said the men were arrested from Link Road and taken to Kalor Kot police station a few hours later.

Residents of the area told police that Yousaf was a daily wage worker and was survived by seven daughters. Police said a case had been registered and a team had been formed to investigate the incident.
