Balochistan security: FC arrested 12 suspects, seized cache of arms in November raids

Home minister says security forces foiled terrorists' bid to destabilise Balochistan

QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) arrested 12 suspects and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition during search operations in Qila Saifullah, Zhob, Lesbela and Bugti tribal territory during the month of November, Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti said on Monday.

Addressing a news conference, Sarfraz gave a detailed briefing to the media on the raids carried out by paramilitary troops on November 14, 23, 26 and 28.

According to the data provided by him, FC stopped a double-cabin vehicle in Qila Saifullah for checking during which they seized three RPG-7 and 100 rounds, a hand grenade, 650 7.5 caliber rounds, 134 high explosive mortars rounds, 105mm mortars rounds 60, 120 mortar charge bags and four fuses. The driver and cleaner were also arrested.

The provincial minister said these arms and ammunition were being supplied to militants from Wana.

Border forces - which were given additional charge of policing - arrested five suspects in Killi Noray area of Zhob district, which shares a border with Afghanistan and Waziristan, he added.

“At least 19 Small Machine Guns (SMG), 1,926 rounds, 7mm rifles, six 12-bore short guns, six 40mm rocket launcher with rockets, 48 pistols with 700 rounds and a land carouser,” FC officials told the media during the briefing.

Security forces also intercepted a truck coming to Balochistan from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in Zhob district. FC personnel found 217 pistols, 100 Kalashnikovs, 223 magazines, 248 spare parts of the different weapons, 15 Light Machine Guns magazines, 1000 rounds of 30-bore.

FC personnel further carried out a raid at house in Dera Bugti on November 14 and arrested four suspects after discovering a huge quantity of arms and ammunition. Forces found a heavy machine gun, three SMGs, one 7mm rifle, one 303-rifle with 46 rounds, two 12-bore rifles, a TT pistol and a mobile set.

Security officers searched a car parked near hotel Sabrena in Hub town of Lesbela district and seized 30 kilogrammes explosive materials. Forces found four Kalashnikov rifles, four 9mm pistols with two magazines, a repeater, four hand grenades, two IED devices and 905 SMG rounds.

The home minister lauded the efforts of security forces to end the terrorism in Balochistan. “Security forces have foiled an attempt by terrorists to destabilise Balochistan following the operation Zarb-e-Azb,” he said.

Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Naseer Janjua and Inspector General FC Ijaz Shahid inspected the seized arms and ammunition in Quetta where they were put on display.

Indian trolls - please note that these advance weapons are provided by a neighbouring country as a counter measure for their support of groups destabilising India. In short wake up as proxy wars will never lead to peace
