A 65-run partnership between Naved Yasin and Aamer Yamin helped SBP register a 52-run first-innings lead against PIA in the Quaid-e-Azam Silver league semi-finals.

Resuming play at 113-7, SBP managed to add 59 runs on day two as Yasin made an impressive 55 off 78 balls. PIA were bundled out for just 120 in their first innings but would be happy with their bowling performance as Ali Imran took 4-40 and Najaf Shah and Anwar Ali took three apiece.

PIA gave a much improved batting performance in their second innings as they finished the day on 187-5, with Fahad Iqbal unbeaten on 67 along with Sheharyar Ghani, who was on 24 off just 19 balls. Rizwan Haider, meanwhile, has figures of 3-56.

The match is precariously balanced as PIA will begin day three 135 runs ahead with five wickets remaining.

In the other match, HBL carried on from their strong overnight position of 241-4 to make 417 as Rameez Aziz made 169. In reply, SSGC were 91-3 at stumps as Fahad Masood took two early wickets to leave SSGC 14-2.
