MINGORA:

A schoolteacher from Gujrat has announced a girls college will be founded in Malala Yousufzai’s name.

While addressing a news conference at Swat Press Club on Thursday, Ihsanul Haq said the new college in Jalalpur, Gujrat district in Punjab will not only honour the Nobel laureate’s struggle for the right to education but also propagate her message. “The basic aim is to address the education woes of girls in the area.”

Haq added, “The college will provide education at par with international standards and encourage students to pursue higher education.”

He added being a schoolteacher he is cognizant of the significance of education for women and aspires to make a difference. “Education is the only way towards development,” said Haq.

He lauded Malala’s determination and said the daughter of Swat is incomparable. “Taking cue from her struggle, we intend to establish a college in her name,” he said.
