KARACHI: Syeda Ghazala, who was appointed as the first female SHO in Karachi police, was suspended on Saturday over her failure to control crime in her jurisdiction.

She was appointed as the Clifton SHO in April. Besides suspension, she was also demoted.

Ghazala and other relevant officials could not be reached for comment despite repeated attempts.

Three female SHOs were appointed in each police station of the three districts of Karachi. Earlier, Jauharabad SHO Anila Qadir was suspended over her failure to control rising incidents of target killings within her jurisdiction.

Bahadurabad SHO Zaibunnisa is the only one of the three who is left. However, she too, is facing departmental inquiry.
