Fergie to collaborate with Nicki Minaj

Singer set to belt out a track with her hip-hop contemporary for upcoming album

News Desk November 14, 2014

Lo and behold as the ‘barracuda’ gears up to collaborate with the ‘anaconda’. Hip hop sensation Fergie revealed that she will be pairing up with Nicki Minaj for a song in her upcoming album, reported E! Online.

The 39-year-old Black Eyed Peas singer, who released her first solo track in six years, LA Love, in late September, shared the news while commenting on her contemporaries in the hip-hop world, specifically, Minaj and Iggy Azalea. Both the stars shot to fame while Fergie was on a sabbatical from the music business.

“Healthy competition... there’s nothing wrong with that,” she said about Nicki and Iggy. “That’s normal.” The Glamorous singer also shared that her impending album will feature the Super Bass rapper in their first-ever collaboration. She didn’t play a preview of the song even though it was on her cell phone.

Although she stated that her “album comes out next year, beginning of the year,” fans may not have to wait quite as long to listen to the anticipated single. When asked whether the two may release the track ahead of Fergie’s record debut, she flashed a smile and said, ‘Possibly’.

For now, Fergie is getting set to perform at the American Music Awards on November 23, reported the Hollywood Reporter.
