KARACHI: The Karachi Centre for Dispute Resolution (KCDR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Trade Dispute Resolution Organisation (TDRO) to promote efficient settlement of trade disputes between foreign and local importers and exporters. The two organisations will work to promote awareness regarding mediation as the most effective means of alternative dispute resolution. KCDR is a ‘not for profit’ established with the approval of the High Court of Sindh and supported by the International Finance Corporation/World Bank Group and offers mediation services. TDRO was established in pursuance of the Strategic Trade Policy Framework 2012-2015 to take action for early resolution of trade disputes. Alliance between the two organisations will set a benchmark for the continued establishment of mediation as a go-to mechanism for alternative dispute resolution in trade disputes.
