MANSEHRA: Jamaat-e-Islam (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq has once again warned the federal government that it will deepen the political crisis if it accepts the resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) lawmakers. Siraj was speaking to media persons on Wednesday during a visit to Mansehra.

The JI chief said that he had asked Speaker National Assembly and the government not to accept the resignations of PTI MNAs, to exhibit flexibility and resolve the matter through negotiations.

"If the government does not realise the delicacy of the situation, it can lead to mid-term elections and put the country into more political crisis," he said.

Siraj accused the federal government of not showing seriousness in coping with the situation.

Corroborating his point, he said the political jirga met with the leadership of PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) for 37 times but despite accepting some of their demands, the government failed to implement them.

“The government has yet to restructure the election commission and judicial commission," he said.
