22-year-old passes away from dengue in Karachi

Noorunissa is the 11th patient to pass away due to dengue in Karachi

KARACHI: A 22-year-old woman suffering from dengue passed away on Saturday at a private hospital in Karachi, Express News reported. 

The head of the dengue surveillance in Karachi said Noorunissa's death makes her the 11th dengue patient in Karachi to pass away due to the mosquito-infected disease.

On October 16, a  26-year-old patient also suffering from dengue breathed his last -- making  him the first person to have died from the virus this year in Lahore.

Awais was among the 44 patients in Lahore who was diagnosed with the dengue virus, which has now infected hundreds of people across the country.

Its time todeclare a dengue emergency in Pakistan ++++++++++++++++++ Innocent lives need to be saved.
