MUZAFFARABAD:

Kashmiri organisations on Thursday took out a rally to condemn the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Indian-administered Kashmir on the eve of Diwali.

The protest rally was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Pasban-e-Hurriyat (JKPH), Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell (JKLC) and International Forum for Justice and Human Rights (IFJHR) and was attended by the people from all walks of life.

Addressing the protesters – chanting anti-India and anti-Modi slogans – the JKPH Chairman Uzair Ghazali said Indian premier’s visit was an attempt to hoodwink the international community. “The BJP has its own doctrine to change the Muslim majority of the occupied territory into a minority,” he said.

Media Adviser to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Shaukat Javid Mir said Modi’s frequent visits to Indian-administered Kashmir was a political stunt to gain support of the people. “However, winning over the Kashmiris is not possible as they have sacrificed everything for the noble cause of plebiscite.”

My ancestors fled from the oppressive, brutal regimes of days past, both contesting parties should first endeavour to provide human rights and security of freedoms for all Kashmiris of any religion, provide for them the means of unification. allow them freedom from both India and Pakistan.
